From bulky 70s upholstery furniture to sleek chrome chandeliers of the 80s, the new collection from 101 Copenhagen combines the best of both design periods in a fresh and contemporary way. With origin in materiality and textures, the designers Kristian Sofus Hansen and Tommy Hyldahl has experimented with adding new materials and finishes to the collection, creating a certain contrast that still blends naturally with the faded earth tones of 101 Copenhagen. Working with the term of a material ‘being alive’, each material embodies a certain depth and richness, with an everchanging appearance according to light and reflection, touch and use.
